good friday

it's good friday!
over two thousand years ago, a sinless Jesus became sin so that we might have life. i deserve death for my sins, but He took my place. paid my debt. sacrificed Himself. what an amazing act to celebrate. how wonderful it is that we can now approach God because of what Jesus did. thank you, Lord, for your work on the cross.

how do you transition from that to my friday favorites? like this...
this is my week in instagram pictures, which also happen to be my friday favorites.
this little girl does so well in the bath tub.

i don't know much about flowers. my knowledge consisted of knowing what daisies and tulips were. i spotted these yellow pretties at trader joes (which, by the way, is a great place to purchase buds). the ranunculus flower. i took them home and immediately put them in a blue vintage mason jar, and i googled them. they apparently are a popular wedding flower, and are now a favorite of mine.

i love to watch this boy sleep. that's not creepy since i'm his mama, right? i can't believe this is my baby boy. he's so grown! even if he sleeps with 2 blankies, a stuffed elephant, and a lightening mcqueen pillow pet.

we went over to a friend's house on sunday night for some great food and even better company. i made dessert. they own a kitchen store, so they are kinda like gourmet chefs. everything they make is beyond delish, so i felt like i needed to step it up a notch in the dessert area...i tried a new recipe...note to self...do not try new recipes when eating with other people. it was a chocolate stout cake with cream cheese icing. it wasn't great...that's probably the last time i make a recipe from people magazine.

this is what they made. grilled pizza. yep, you read right. the dough is coated in olive oil and thrown right on the grill until one side is done. then, it's flipped and topped to finish cooking. we had 3 different kinds. this one was probably my fave: fresh mozzarella, tomato, basil, pine nuts, and balsamic glace.

 jude peeking at nora in her crib.

 oh, what can i say. she's my beauty.

my sis is a wedding planner (a really great one, if you are tying the knot and need some help). wednesday night, i went with her to a meet and greet, try the menu shindig for people in the wedding industry. it was on a boat. i love living near the water.

happy easter to all of you.

{i love this passage from luke. the Lord has risen!}
but on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. and they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. while they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel.  and as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “why do you seek the living among the dead? he is not here, but has risen. remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise.” and they remembered his words, and returning from the tomb they told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. now it was mary magdalene and joanna and mary the mother of james and the other women with them who told these things to the apostles, but these words seemed to them an idle tale, and they did not believe them. but peter rose and ran to the tomb; stooping and looking in, he saw the linen cloths by themselves; and he went home marveling at what had happened. luke 24:1-12 esv
