diy {yarn wrapped letters}

i mentioned on monday that i would show you what these supplies were used for...

we were given letter's for jude's room as a gift, and frankly, i wasn't as into crafting like i am now, partly because i worked full-time and didn't read blogs at that time. we didn't have letters for nora's room, and then i saw these on pinterest and knew i had to make them:

i googled yarn wrapped letters and found many tutorials that are great. these ended up being super easy and cheap (the total project only cost me $6.44...i already had the glue) yet time could be that nora has some not so easy letters to cover, or that i just feel like everything takes me forever to do because i'm in a time crunch since i'm now 37 weeks preggo!

here is my version:
the start...

the finish...
(sorry no in between pictures)

many of the tutorials i found didn't use glue, however, i decided to use this amazing glue called fabri-tac because some areas of the letters were hard to wrap. so, i would dab a little bit of glue, attach the yarn and wrap away. i also used glue at the end of secure the final piece of yarn. i would give you a tutorial, but there are so many good ones already. i used this one from let birds fly. we chose white because nora's walls are a grayish-brown color, and i love the contrast of the dark walls with the white letters. i can't wait to show you her nursery...when it's's almost done...i promise...

what do you think?

{miscellany monday}

happy 30th birthday to my best friend
{Godly husband, servant leader, amazing father, and awesome provider}
saturday was his birthday!
to celebrate, we went to the farmer's market with some of our best friends, came back home for relaxing, and had homemade peanut butter fudge
but, the best part of all was spending it together as a family.

speaking of the farmer's market...
we had a lot of fun going with our buds and their kids.
they're veterans, but it was our first time at this particular one.
i was in local fresh food heaven...
fresh local produce, grass-fed beef, cage-free eggs, freshly canned jellies...oh my!
we will definitely be making some regular trips to the market for some yummy goodies!

{i'm 36 weeks in this picture! yikes, it's so soon!}

our boys doing what boys do best...finding treasures and getting dirty.

attempting to take a picture of two toddlers can be tough...

we managed to get one of them looking at the camera at the same time. they are too cute!

projects, projects! we've been super busy trying to get nora's nursery ready for her arrival. who knew it'd be so hard to find white frames! i've scoured goodwill and some garage sales for some inexpensive wood frames that my sweetie has been spray painting white for me. i can't wait to show you the finished nursery!

i found this darling little wood doll cradle at a garage sale for $4.00. he painted this for me as well. it has a cushion...which is not cute, nor does it match her room, so i will be recovering it {hopefully} before she arrives.

one more project i worked on this past week involved these items...
i'll be posting the final pictures later this week...

i'm linking up here today

she has a name...

we finally decided on a name.
we've loved the name nora since i was pregnant with jude.
haddie is a family name, coming from my dad's grandma...
so, my great grandma (whom i've never met).

nora is latin and means {woman of honor}
i pray my daughter is honorable woman of God.

haddie is hebrew and means {myrtle tree}
i found this scripture that talks about the myrtle tree being apart of an everlasting sign of the name of the Lord.

{for you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle; and it shall make a name for the LORD, an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.  -isaiah 55:12-13}

and this one that talks about it as a sign that God hasn't forsaken his people.

{When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue is parched with thirst, I the LORD will answer them; I the God of Israel will not forsake them. I will open rivers on the bare heights, and fountains in the midst of the valleys. I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water. I will put in the wilderness the cedar, the acacia, the myrtle, and the olive. I will set in the desert the cypress, the plane and the pine together, that they may see and know, may consider and understand together, that the hand of the LORD has done this, the Holy One of Israel has created it. -isaiah 41:17-20}

we are so excited about actually naming her, which definitely makes the changes that have occurred and that are coming more real.
we love our beloved nora and can't wait to meet her in only a few weeks!

shower for baby

i've been a little m.i.a. from the blog world due to nursery prep and just being plain exhausted, and realized i never posted pictures from the sweet shower that my sweet friends and family gave me and little girl (she still didn't have a name at this point, but she now has one...i will share it in another post...oh the suspense).

please note, these pictures are unedited, and unmarked. i just didn't feel like editing them, so i apologize in advance! (and, since they are unmarked, please do not reproduce unless you ask permission...thanks!)

the delicious food! everything was so good!
the menu included cinnamon cream cheese bars, goat cheese with pumpkin butter and table water crackers, smoked gouda pimento cheese with crackers, caprese pasta salad, and yummy chocolate cupcakes with strawberry icing.

the party favors.
adorable lollipops with a ribbon and thank you stickers.

everyone drank out of mason jars and these super cute paper straws from etsy.

the beverages.

(have you noticed all of the mason jars with beautiful pink and white flowers?) a sign-up for meals for after we have little girl. this is an easy and thoughtful way to help out a mom after baby is born. i was so thankful to have prepared meals brought to us after jude was born!

the diaper cake.

baby girl banner.

some of the ladies in my family. (from left to right) my sister ashley, mom, me, mema, and aunt tammy

my darling mom and sister helped with the shower.

my beautiful friends, carissa and beth, who also helped with all the loveliness of the shower.

 i was 32 weeks at my shower. my 32 weeks picture.

hope you enjoyed the tour.
